Volunteer projects for your learners
The Academy offers remote, mentored volunteering on real early-stage web projects. We'd be glad to talk to course coordinators about whether it could suit a learner. No college approval or partnership is implied.
What it is
- Volunteering on one of our projects: research, writing, design, data or testing.
- Remote and self-paced. There are no required hours or deadlines, and learners can stop any time.
- A mentor who knows the project reviews the work and gives feedback.
- For adults aged 18 and over.
What we can provide to a coordinator
- A description of the project and what the learner chose to work on.
- Mentor details.
- A log of the learner's contributions, with dates and links.
- Mentor feedback and, if the learner wants it, a factual reference.
What we don't assume
- That self-paced volunteering meets your course's placement rules. Many placements need set hours, a workplace supervisor or particular agreements.
- That any QQI or other recognition follows. The Academy doesn't award qualifications.
Only your college can approve something for a course. Tell us what your course needs and we'll tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
